Ferrucci bests Bilicki to win Race No. 2 of the IceBox Pickup Throwdown Series race at virtual Kansas Speedway

IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing eSports Truck Series Rich Mar Florist Kansas Winner Santino Ferrucci

Following the IceBox Pickup Throwdown Series’ inaugural race at Texas last week, the attention turned to Thursday night’s Rich Mar Florist 100 at the virtual Kansas Speedway.

While the first half of the 100-lapper was a survival of the fittest, the finish came down to NTT IndyCar Series racer Santino Ferrucci, NASCAR XFINITY Series veteran Josh Bilicki, and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series driver Stewart Friesen. Bilicki, parlaying pit strategy, held the lead in the final moments before tangling with Friesen on the final turn just before the stripe as Ferrucci zipped to the inside line to capture an exciting win.

The IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing Truck Series is a five-race esports streaming series that culminates with a championship finale. The series is an invite-only event created for NASCAR Truck Series and Xfinity Drivers who accumulate points throughout the series and compete for the championship bundle of cash and prizes. Each event is 100 laps and broadcasts live Thursday nights on YouTube and Twitch.

The Rich Mar Florist 100 offered $700 in prize money. In addition to $500 going to the winner, $100 each went to the second-place finisher and Bommarito.com Pole Award winner. The Halfway leader won a Gen-Y hitch valued at more than $500. The Pickup Throwdown Series is a point series, with the season-ending champion earning $500 in prize money, plus an IceBox Helmet Cooler system (valued at $5,000) and a Dragonfire Workbench (valued at $4,000).
