Timmy Hill wins Race No. 3 of the IceBox Pickup Throwdown Series race at virtual Michigan International Speedway

IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing eSports Truck Series FireDisc 100 Michigan Winner Timmy Hill

After two action-packed, grueling races to kickoff the IceBox Pickup Throwdown Series, Thursday night’s FireDisc 100 at the virtual Michigan International Speedway provided intense, heavy competition.

Despite some rough and tumble moments in the early going, Timmy Hill proved to be king of the road at Michigan. With potent challenges from the likes of Austin Hill, Tyler Hill — Timmy’s younger brother — Jordan Anderson, and Brett Moffitt, nobody had an answer for Timmy Hill. Ultimately, the pride of Port Tobacco, Md. drove his way to Michigan’s Victory Lane while Austin Hill and Anderson earned respectable podium finishes.

The third installment of the five-race series also featured the debut of reigning Cup champion Kyle Busch, who made a strong run into the Top 10 before finishing 14th. Starting 22, Busch brought both the virtual Michigan International Speedway and the Out of the Groove YouTube channel crowd to their proverbial “feet” midway through the race with a strong run that found him in 8th place before he tailed off.

The IceBox Pickup Throwdown iRacing Truck Series is a five-race esports streaming series that culminates with a championship finale. The series is an invite-only event created for NASCAR Truck Series and Xfinity Drivers who accumulate points throughout the series and compete for the championship bundle of cash and prizes. Each event is 100 laps and broadcasts live Thursday nights on YouTube and Twitch.

The FireDisc 100 offered $700 in prize money. In addition to $500 going to the winner, $100 each went to the second-place finisher and Bommarito.com Pole Award winner. The Halfway leader won a Gen-Y hitch valued at more than $500. The Pickup Throwdown Series is a point series, with the season-ending champion earning $500 in prize money, plus an IceBox Helmet Cooler system (valued at $5,000) and a Dragonfire Workbench (valued at $4,000).
